NorthStar Systems LLC voluntarily ended its lawsuit alleging BMW infringed patents covering infotainment technology used in several vehicles.
The patent owner dismissed its allegations with prejudice against Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, according to a notice of dismissal filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. BMW’s American unit also filed a notice of dismissal Monday in the US District Court for Western District of Texas, ending its related lawsuit seeking declaratory judgment that it did not infringe NorthStar’s patents.
