BMG Files Anthropic’s Latest Music Company Suit Over AI Training

Anthropic PBC was hit with yet another copyright lawsuit over how it developed its AI models, this time from music publisher and record label BMG Rights Managements (US) LLC.

Anthropic illegally acquired copies of BMG’s copyrighted musical compositions and song lyrics from sources such as Common Crawl, Pirate Library Mirror, and The Pile, to train its articifial intelligence models, according to a lawsuit filed by the music company and its subsidiary in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
