BMC Software Says Blockchain Social Media App Ripped Off Logo

BMC Software Inc. accused blockchain-based social media company Desofy Inc. of ripping off its logo in a trademark complaint filed in a Texas federal court.

Desofy’s logo would create an impression among consumers that it’s affiliated with BMC, the information technology company said in its complaint in the US District Court in the Southern District of Texas. Desofy allegedly didn’t respond to a cease and desist letter, and while it did then modify its logo, the new logo remains “strikingly similar” to BMC’s, according to the complaint.
