Bloomberg Must Face Trade Secret Theft Claims in iSentium Suit

Bloomberg L.P. couldn’t convince a court to toss claims that it stole trade secrets in a lawsuit over its use of social media technology.

Bloomberg won a motion to dismiss patent infringement claims in iSentium LLC’s 2017 lawsuit last month, but trade secrets questions remain, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District Court of New York ruled Nov. 16.

Bloomberg must still defend against claims that it continued to use iSentium’s technology, which examines Twitter messages about stocks, after ending a non-disclosure agreement. iSentium brought its trade secrets misappropriation and breach of contract claims under the federal Defend Trade ...
