Blockchain Platform Tari Wins Restraining Order Against Taro

Blockchain platform Tari Labs LLC won a temporary restraining order in its trademark lawsuit against another blockchain company, Lightning Labs Inc., which developed a Bitcoin-based digital asset platform called the Taro protocol.

US District Judge William H. Orrick ruled Monday that Tari, which developed the Tari protocol that allows the transfer of digital assets, was likely to succeed in showing that Lightning’s Taro protocol would cause consumer confusion and irreparable harm.

Orrick barred Lightning from making external updates to its Taro protocol and from “launching” the next stage for the protocol.
