‘Blade Runner 2049' Studio Sues Tesla, Elon Musk After Image Use

Tesla Inc. and Elon Musk used “an apparently AI-generated faked image” to promote Tesla’s new autonomous cybercab at an event this month despite Alcon Entertainment’s rejection of a request to use a still image from its “Blade Runner 2049" movie, a federal lawsuit says.

Alcon—which produced “Blade Runner 2049" and owns the film’s copyright—said Musk used the artificially generated image to promote Tesla at an Oct. 10 event even after it “adamantly objected” to using an image from the film or any suggestions of an affiliation between the film and Tesla, Musk, or any Musk-owned company, according to a complaint ...
