Compass Mining Inc., a company selling computer systems built for mining Bitcoin, failed to remove a customer’s mining servers from Russian data centers after the US enacted sanctions against the country at the start of the Ukraine-Russia war, a suit in California federal court said.
Veribi LLC is asking for at least $1.5 million in damages, claiming that Compass had a duty to obtain Veribi’s Bitcoin mining hardware from BitRiver AG, which was sanctioned under Executive Order 14024, the complaint said.
