BioTelemetry Inc. subsidiaries convinced the Federal Circuit that their infringement suit over a competitor’s cardiac monitoring systems patent was improperly dismissed.
CardioNet LLC and Braemar Manufacturing LLC sued InfoBionic Inc. for infringing their patent, which describes techniques for detecting and distinguishing abnormal heart rhythms. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit revived the suit after finding that the patent claims cover an improved cardiac monitoring device, not just automating known techniques.
