Bio-Rad Secures $24M Damages Award From 10X in Patent Dispute

Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. and the University of Chicago fended off a bid to toss a jury verdict that awarded them $24 million in damages in a patent infringement case.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware denied 10X Genomics Inc.'s motion for a post-verdict judgment that its genome technology products didn’t infringe three patents that the university licenses to Bio-Rad.

The court also denied 10X’s request for a new trial and its motions for judgment that claims in the patents were invalid. The university and Bio-Rad’s case for damages was legally sufficient, the court said.
