Bimbo Bakeries’ Win in Trade Secrets Case Reversed on Appeal

The Tenth Circuit reversed a win Friday by Bimbo Bakeries USA in a trade secrets misappropriation case it filed involving the recipe and process for making “Grandma Sycamore” bread.

A Utah jury had found U.S. Bakery, an Oregon company, and baker Leland Sycamore liable for misappropriation and false advertising in a suit brought by Bimbo.

The U.S. District Court of the District of Utah afterward denied U.S. Bakery and Sycamore’s motions for judgment as a matter of law.
