Big Tech, Consumer Groups Negotiating Colorado AI Law (Correct)

Negotiations underway among elected officials, consumer groups, and the tech industry could determine the future of Colorado’s first-in-the-nation law restricting how the private sector uses artificial intelligence systems to automate decision-making.

State Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez (D) plans to introduce legislation to overhaul the law (S.B. 205) based on those negotiations. Gov. Jared Polis (D) demanded changes in exchange for signing the measure last spring.
