The online mental health platform BetterHelp Inc. was sued in Atlanta federal court for allegedly advertising with the trademark “Therapy For Black Girls,” which is owned by a Georgia company with that name.
The Tuesday complaint said Therapy For Black Girls LLC was founded five years ago by psychologist Joy Harden Bradford to “fight the stigma behind mental health for black women and girls.”
