Becton Dickinson’s PureWick Sues Stryker’s Sage Over Catheter

Becton Dickinson’s PureWick Corp. expanded its courtroom fight with Sage Products LLC, a unit of Stryker Corp., claiming in a complaint filed Wednesday in Delaware federal court that a new version of Sage’s female external catheter infringes two patents for the technology.

Sage in 2021 launched the PrimaFit 2.0, updating the original PrimaFit it had introduced in 2017 to compete with PureWick’s FEC Solution. The products are designed to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections and skin damage caused by urine-soaked diapers and bedding.
