Beastie Boys Suit Says Chili’s Video Infringed ‘Sabotage’ Song

The musical group Beastie Boys sued the restaurant company that owns Chili’s, saying it infringed the group’s copyrights when promoting the restaurant chain on social media using clips of the song “Sabotage” and imitating scenes of the song’s music video.

Brinker International Inc. produced and sponsored videos that included the musical composition and sound recordings of “Sabotage” without permission from the rightsholders, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
