Baylor University sued the Trustees of Boston University over the school’s use of a “specific interlocking BU design” that Baylor says infringes its historic trademark and violates an agreement between the two universities.
Baylor doesn’t object to Boston University’s use of “primarily and historically used stylized marks that display the letters side-by-side” but said the interlocked mark is infringing, according to a complaint filed Aug. 8 in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
