Barstool Sports Sued for Using Photo of Gender Neutral Family

Barstool Sports Inc. was hit with a suit Tuesday in the Southern District of New York alleging it published without authorization a copyrighted photo of family that uses only gender-neutral pronouns for their children.

Photographer Annie Tritt alleges the sports & pop culture blog lifted her photograph of the Sharp family sitting on a stoop from an NBC News online article, which identified her as the author of the photo.

The NBC article, entitled “‘Boy or girl?’ Parents raising ‘theybies’ let kids decide,” ran on July 19, 2018.
