Baby Mat Patent Owner Has Unclean Hands, Federal Circuit Holds

A former “Shark Tank” contestant and self-described mom entrepreneur lost an 8 year infringement suit over patented toddler dining mat technology for withholding key information from a rival and litigation target, a federal appeals court ruled.

Lindsey Laurain and her infant tableware company ezpz engaged in litigation misconduct and made misrepresentations to the US Patent and Trademark Office, dooming their chances to win a patent case against rival Luv N’ Care Ltd., or LNC, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit held Friday in a precedential opinion.
