Babcock & Brown Aircraft Sues Competitor Over Trademarks

The successor to former international investment group Babcock & Brown’s aviation division sued a competitor created by former B&B employees in Connecticut federal court Monday, alleging it infringes its trademarks.

BBAM Aircraft Management LP told the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut that it’s the third-largest manager of leased commercial jets in the world, working with airlines including Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and British Airways. The company also says it’s the market leader in arranging Japanese operating lease (JOL) financing for airlines.
