Axon’s Taser Wins Appeal in Phazzer Stun Gun Patent Case

An appeals court upheld sanctions imposed against Phazzer, including an order limiting sales of its Enforcer stun gun and associated dart cartridges.

A trial judge in Florida had found that Phazzer engaged in litigation misconduct, including refusing to produce witnesses for deposition or to show up for a hearing.

The judge punished the company by ruling that Taser had won the case and imposing an order preventing further infringement of a Taser patent and a trademark on the shape of the darts.
