Avery Dennison Told to Pay $26.6 Million in RFID Patent Fight

Avery Dennison Corp. was told to pay an Oregon business $26.6 million after jurors found certain RFID tags sold by the materials science company infringed a patent.

Jurors in the U.S. District Court of the District of Oregon returned the verdict Friday, following a trial in Eugene. The jury found Adasa Inc. was entitled to royalties for Avery Dennison’s infringement of U.S. Patent No. 9,798,967.
