AutoZone Use of Telematics Devices Infringed Patents, Suit Says

Fleet Connect Solutions LLC accused AutoZone Inc. of infringing a dozen patents by using a software provider’s fleet telematics devices.

AutoZone uses software products created by Trimble, including the TMT Fleet Maintenance platform, in its delivery trucks, according to a complaintfiled Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Fleet Connect said several Trimble products use methods for wireless communications detailed in its patents.
