AU Optronics, Hisense Beat Phenix’s LCD Patent Claims at Trial (1)

AU Optronics Corp. and Hisense Group Co. units beat Phenix Longhorn LLC’s patent infringement allegations concerning the manufacturing and use of LCD panels in televisions.

AUO and Hisense didn’t infringe and didn’t induce others to directly infringe US Patent No. 7,233,305, according to a Jan. 23 jury verdict in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The jury also determined AUO didn’t infringe US Patent No. 7,557,788.

Phenix sued the companies in October 2023 over the patents, which protect methods for gamma reference voltage generation.
