Atos Units Owe Cognizant $70 Million in Trade Secret Dispute

Two Atos SE units owe Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. and its subsidiary $70 million in compensatory damages as part of a decade-long trade secret and copyright dispute concerning health insurance software.

The IT services giant Cognizant and The TriZetto Group Inc., now known as Cognizant TriZetto Software Group Inc., requested an amended final judgment reflecting the June 30 jury verdict from a damages trial, and an order for Syntel Inc. and Syntel Sterling Best Shores Mauritius Ltd. to pay $354.8 million in damages and $14.5 million in attorney’s fees, according to a letter filed Tuesday in the US District Court ...
