Asus Owes $10.5 Million in Semiconductor Tech Patent Verdict (1)

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. owes Force Mos Technology Co. $10.5 million for infringing two semiconductor patents with its laptops, a federal jury determined.

Asus willfully infringed US Patent Nos. 7,629,634 and 7,812,409, the according to a verdict filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Asus didn’t prove an asserted claim of the ‘409 patent was invalid, the verdict said.

Christopher Hanba of Dickinson Wright PLLC, counsel for Force Mos, said in an email that the company appreciates the efforts of the jury and is pleased it recognized the patent owner’s intellectual property rights.
