Asus Hit With $22.4 Million Verdict Over SVV’s LED Tech Patents

ASUSTek Computer Inc. owes SVV Technology Innovations Inc. $22.4 million for willfully infringing LED patents by placing the protected methods into its monitors, a Texas jury determined.

Asus infringed US Patent Nos. 8,290,318; 9,880,342; 10,439,089 and 10,627,562, according to the verdict filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. It’s SVV’s latest win in Texas asserting its patents against electronics companies.

Warren McCarty of Caldwell Cassady & Curry, counsel for SVV, said in emailed statement the company is appreciative of the jury’s service and consideration.
