‘Assassin’s Creed’ Maker Wins Attorneys’ Fees in Patent Fight

Princeton Digital Image Corp. must reimburse Ubisoft Inc. for attorneys’ fees the video game maker spent fighting baseless patent infringement claims, a Delaware federal judge said.

Princeton Digital’s infringement arguments weren’t unreasonable when the case started, U.S. District Judge Leonard Stark said. But the allegations “became baseless” after a court ruling that effectively undercut any reasonable argument Ubisoft infringed, the judge said.
