Ask Sydney Sues Meta, Amazon, Google Over Image-Search Patents

A Long Island-based company sued Amazon.com Inc., Meta Platforms Inc., Microsoft Corp., Google LLC, and Snapchat owner Snap LLC over the alleged infringement of two image-search patents.

Ask Sydney LLC accused the tech giants of stealing a patented image search algorithm developed by a father-daughter team for a food-related phone app. The suits were filed in the Waco Division of the Western District of Texas, one of the busiest patent venues in the country.
