Army Assessing Anduril Role in Goggle Project as Key Test Looms

The Army is evaluating whether Anduril Industries Inc. has the accounting, production and technical capabilities to take over management and eventual manufacturing of a potential $22 billion program to provide high-tech infantry goggles.

Anduril, a maker of drones and software to control them, reached agreement last month to take over those responsibilities from Microsoft Corp., which is developing the combat device based on its HoloLens “mixed reality” goggles.

The Army will complete the determination of Anduril’s capabilities “as soon as possible,” service spokesman David Patterson said in an email.
