Apple Sued Over Trade Secrets Days After Dodging Patent Case (1)

A fintech firm that dismissed its patent suit against Apple Inc. a day before trial this week filed a new suit accusing the tech giant of “corporate theft and racketeering of monumental proportions” related to its ApplePay system.

The complaint, filed late Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, brings claims for damages under federal and state trade secrets and anti-racketeering laws. The allegations center on Apple’s discussions with e-commerce company CorFire in 2011 and 2012, which Fintiv said developed its mobile wallet technology. Fintiv acquired CorFire in 2014, according to the complaint.
