Apple Punctures Two of Three Wireless Phone Charging Patents

Apple Inc. sunk two out of three wireless phone-charging patents that an Irish patent monetization company Scromoge Technology Ltd. accused it of infringing.

Apple nixed more than a dozen claims that it had challenged as obvious in Scramoge Technology Ltd.'s US Patent No. 9,843,215, with a ruling from the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board published Friday. On April 26, the board canceled eight claims from another related Scramoge patent, US Patent No. 9,997,962.

However a third Scramoge patent—US Patent No. 10,804,740—survived a separate Apple challenge unscathed.
