Apple Prevails in Mobile-Wallet Tech Patent Fight With Fintiv

A Texas federal judge tossed Fintiv Inc.'s long-running patent suit targeting Apple Inc. over its Apple Wallet features that allow for the storage of credit card information on smart phones, Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches.

District Judge Alan D. Albright ruled that Fintiv had presented no evidence that software from any of the accused Apple products constitute a “widget,” which is a required limitation of the relevant patent claims, ending the case at the US District Court for the Western District of Texas in Waco.
