Apple Hits VB Assets With Breach Claim in Patent Suit Over Siri

Apple Inc. denied infringing seven patents covering voice-assistant technology in its Siri-enabled devices and asked a Delaware federal judge to toss VB Assets LLC’s expanded claims, while pressing its own breach-of-contract counterclaim tied to past licensing talks.

The Cupertino-based tech giant filed redacted answer and counterclaims Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware, where Apple’s Sept. 3 response had been filed under seal. It countered VB Assets’ amended complaint, which broadened the accused Siri products to cover new Apple hardware and platforms and emphasized Apple Intelligence enhancements.
