Apple Inc. launched a broadside legal attack on the International Trade Commission’s decision to halt US sales of certain models within the company’s flagship smart watch, asking a federal appeals court to overturn that decision.
Apple claimed the ITC overstepped its authority and violated its own rules when it issued an October 2023 decision that Apple Watch 6 and more recent models should be pulled from the market because they infringed oxygen-saturation monitoring patents owned by medical device maker Masimo Corp., according to an April 5 filing at the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
