Aon Says Zesty.ai Copied Patented AI-Powered Disaster-Risk Tech

Zesty.ai Inc.’s Z-Property platform uses an Aon Plc subsidiary’s patented AI-powered technology for analyzing aerial images of buildings to assess property risks from natural disasters without permission, a federal lawsuit said.

Aon Re Inc. alleges the San Francisco-based startup’s platform, also known as “Location Insights,” infringes US Patent Nos. 10,529,029, 10,650,285, 11,030,491, and 11,195,058, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The platform includes functions such as “Digital Roof,” “Roof Age,” “Z-View,” “Z-Storm,” “Z-Fire,” “Z-Wind,” and “Z-Hail,” it said.
