Anthropic Pushes Back on Music Publishers’ Injunction Request

Anthropic PBC urged a federal judge to reject a request from music publishers to block the company’s AI model from outputting copyrighted song lyrics, arguing they haven’t shown they’d suffer irreparable harm without an injunction.

The Amazon-backed artificial intelligence company company said the eight music publishers—including Universal Music Corp. and Concord Music Group—are the only plaintiffs to seek an injunction against an AI company across more than two dozen similar copyright lawsuits.
