AnkerDirect defeated CogniPower LLC’s lawsuit over its wall chargers using Power Integrations Inc. controller chips, as a federal jury in Delaware invalidated two reissued patents and said they wouldn’t have been infringed anyway.
Jurors found all asserted claims of US Patent Nos. RE47,031 and RE47,713 invalid and not infringed, according to a verdict issued Aug. 22 in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The patents cover the electronics inside chargers that control how power flows from the wall to devices, and Bloomberg Law estimates they would’ve expired in November 2033.
