Anker Is Sued for Patent Royalties on Dozens of USB Chargers

Anker Innovations, a Chinese company that started selling mobile-phone chargers on Amazon and grew into a global brand worth almost $10 billion, was accused of infringing four patents related to USB charging adapters for mobile devices that originally belonged to BlackBerry.

  • Closely held Fundamental Innovation Systems International is seeking cash compensation of an amount to be determined at trial, “supplemental damages,” and a court order blocking further unauthorized use of the inventions, according to a complaint filed Friday in Wilmington, Delaware
