Anheuser-Busch Asks 7th Cir. to Reverse ‘No Corn Syrup’ Ad Ban

Anheuser-Busch told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit that it should reverse a district court order that granted MillerCoors’s request to bar it from advertising on Bud Light’s packaging that it doesn’t contain corn syrup.

AB argued advertising that Bud Light contains no corn syrup doesn’t imply that MillerCoors beers do. But even if it did, it wouldn’t “imply a false message” because the beers actually contain corn syrup, AB said in a Nov. 20 brief.

MillerCoors also didn’t show that it would be harmed or that consumers would be confused by the ads, AB said.
