The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is delaying patent-related fee increases by about three months in light of the coronavirus-related economic downturn.
The agency on Friday announced it would increase a slew of fees associated with issuing and maintaining patent rights and Patent Trial and Appeal Board validity trials. Among the hikes is an increase from $15,500 to $19,000 for large companies requesting an inter partes review of up to 20 patent claims.
