Amazon Whistleblower Fails to Revive Fur Import Fraud Lawsuit

A whistleblower failed to show he should get another chance to argue Amazon.com violated the False Claims Act by working with foreign companies to import fur products into the US without paying proper fees and tariffs, the Second Circuit said Wednesday.

A New York federal district court properly concluded that the whistleblower didn’t sufficiently allege Amazon had knowledge of foreign manufacturers’ false claims, Judge José A. Cabranes of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in an opinion to affirm dismissal.
