Amazon Unable to Escape NXP’s Patent Claims in Wi-Fi Chip Suit

Amazon.com Inc. lost its bid for a dismissal of NXP USA Inc.’s allegations that Amazon’s sales of products that contain a certain Wi-Fi chip induces customers to infringe NXP’s patents and contributes to that infringement, according to a Texas federal court ruling.

Judge Rodney Gilstrap, in an opinion Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, denied Amazon’s motion entirely.
