Amazon Says Streamer Can’t Claim Texas Roots in Patent Lawsuit

Amazon.com Inc. has accused a video streaming IP company of trying to misrepresent its Delaware roots in an effort to gain an edge in its upcoming patent-infringement jury trial against the web services giant in West Texas.

Amazon told Judge Alan Albright Thursday that his court shouldn’t accept Broadband iTV’s request to be recognized as a Texas corporation when, at the outset of the lawsuit and in a second amended complaint, the company said it was based in the First State.
