Amazon Owes $122 Million Over Targeted Ad Patents, Says Jury (1)

Amazon.com Inc. and two of its units owe AlmondNet Inc. $121.95 million for their Amazon Ads platform’s infringement of patent-protected methods and programs for targeted advertising, a jury found.

Amazon, Amazon Web Services Inc., and Amazon.com Services LLC infringed claims in US Patent Nos. 7,822,639 and 8,671,139, according to the verdict issued Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The jury also found the patents to be valid.
