Amazon, Google, Walmart Win Appeal on Tossed Computing Patent

The Federal Circuit agreed with a California district court judge that a Texas company’s distributed computing patent—asserted against Google LLC, Amazon.com Inc. , and Walmart Inc. in 2015—shouldn’t have been granted as it covered an abstract concept.

The court invalidated key parts of Eolas Technologies Inc.'s US Patent No. 9,195,507 in an opinion issued Thursday.
