Amazon, GE Target ‘Counterfeit’ Water Filter Sellers in Suit (1)

Amazon.com Inc. is teaming up with General Electric Corp. and GE Appliances in a trademark infringement lawsuit against Amazon sellers who they claim are deceiving customers by selling counterfeit GE water filters.

In suing a collection of 16 individuals and entities, the companies said the alleged copycats were identified through Amazon’s brand protection tools and reviewed and confirmed by GE Appliances as counterfeits.

These sellers, some of which remain unknown, “have infringed and misused General Electric’s IP, willfully deceived and harmed Plaintiffs and their customers, compromised the integrity of the Amazon Store” and undermined customers’ trust in GE and Amazon, ...
