Amazon Fires Back in Fight Over Warehouse Technology Patents

Amazon.com, Inc. sued Detroit-area augmented reality system maker LightGuide, Inc. in a Seattle federal court Tuesday, seeking a declaration that it didn’t infringe three patents.

The complaint comes in response to LightGuide’s lawsuit in the Eastern District of Texas that alleges the e-commerce titan infringed three of its patents for a light-guided assembly system—US Patent Nos. 7,515,981, 9,658,614, and 10,528,036—through Amazon’s Nike system, which uses magenta and white lights to direct warehouse workers where to pick up and place items.
