Amazon.com Settles Infringement Claims Over Webpage Copyright

A lawsuit between Amazon.com Inc. and a furniture website provider that would have tested the limits of pre-internet copyright law against current technology is being settled, according to a Tuesday filing.

FurnitureDealer.Net Inc. originally sued Amazon for copyright infringement in 2018, claiming it owned the copyright to product descriptions it had created for furniture wholesaler Coaster Company of America, and that Amazon was infringing by using the descriptions on its own online retail platform.

The parties agreed to settle and dismiss all claims and counterclaims with prejudice, as well as bear their own litigation costs, attorneys fees, and other expenses, ...
