Amazon Can Partially Enforce Noncompete on Google’s New VP

Amazon.com can partially enforce an “unreasonable” noncompete agreement signed by a former sales director who left to join Google Cloud as a vice president, the Western District of Washington said.

Philip Moyer is “very likely” to harm Amazon if he contacts current or former Amazon Web Services financial services customers in his new position, Chief Judge Ricardo S. Martinez of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington said.

Moyer is also barred from participating in activities directly related to Google Cloud’s financial services vertical or customers pending a resolution of Amazon’s noncompetition agreement breach suit or Nov. ...
