Altria’s NJoy Seeks to Evade Imports Ban After Loss to Juul (1)

Altria Group Inc.’s Njoy said it’s seeking the FDA’s clearance to sell an Ace e-cigarette product it said it’s tweaked to avoid three of four Juul Labs Inc. patents a US trade judge recently found it infringes.

Administrative Law Judge Doris Johnson Hines issued her initial determination Aug. 23 at the US International Trade Commission in Washington, finding NJoy’s Ace pod-vaporizer devices infringe four Juul patents whose validity she upheld.
