Altice’s Former Co-CEO Named Person of Interest in Probe (1)

Alexandre Fonseca, the former co-chief executive officer of telecommunications group Altice, has been named a person of interest in a corruption investigation related to the company’s Portuguese unit, his lawyer said.

The 51-year old, who also ran the Portuguese unit when the alleged acts of corruption, money laundering and tax fraud took place, is being considered an “arguido,” his lawyer Rogerio Alves told Bloomberg News on Thursday. The Portuguese legal term “arguido” is attributed to someone that has become a person of interest.
